How To Get Here:
After you have collected your luggage call for the shuttle van on 0474 255 415 or if no answer call 0429 727 277.
Exit the terminal and cross the medium strip and wait outside the smoking shelter for the LeisureRent branded van.
Our depot is located at 5 Gatty Street Western Junction, we operate the shuttle Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm (excluding weekends and public holidays), outside these hours please take a taxi or uber , we’re just a 5 minute drive from the airport, then contact us on 0429 727 277 and ask for the PIN to access the key safe which is located outside the gates to the property where you can gain the keys to your vehicle.
If you’re already in Launceston make your way to our depot at 5 Gatty Street, Western Junction.
Returning Your Vehicle
You’ll need to return the vehicle to 5 Gatty Street Western Junction.
Mon – Fri 8am – 4.30pm (excluding weekends and public holidays), we’ll transfer you to Launceston Airport via the shuttle van, outside these times call a Taxi or Uber to take you to the Airport. There’s a key safe for out of hours returns, call us on 0429 727 277 for the PIN to access this safe.

These guys are fantastic! Extremely competitive pricing, friendly, no-nonsense customer service, and a fantastic vehicle - you won’t do any better. Ken was a pleasure to deal with and made the collection and return process as simple as could be. We collected and returned out of hours. This involves getting an Uber to take you the 4 min drive from the airport to Leisure Rent’s facility and picking up keys from a safe box. Ken reimburses the full cost of the Uber and does so within a couple of hours, so you won’t be out of pocket. The only issue we ran into was when we returned the car. No issue at all with the return itself, but we did have trouble ordering an Uber to the airport terminal from Leisure Rent’s facility. Because Leisure Rent is so close to the terminal building, when you attempt to book an Uber from Leisure Rent to the terminal, Uber defaults your pick up location to the terminal building itself as opposed to Leisure Rent. A blue rectangular zone appears on the Uber map and it appears that if you attempt to be picked up within this rectangular zone, Uber defaults your pick up location to in front of the terminal building. This is obviously problematic if you want to be picked up from Leisure Rent. We ended up having to walk (which only took 12 mins), but this is maybe something Ken should investigate with Uber, as if we had heavier bags, the walk would’ve been a bit more cumbersome. This is a third party issue for the out of hours return only though, and honestly we found Ken and the Leisure Rent service to be top class. Thanks Ken!
Van picked up at Launceston Airport location (unbeknown to us); not Leisurerent, but a third party parking facility. There was no pre-start inspection of vehicle, or familiarisation, we were given the key to the Campervan and sent on our way! Beside the Van being European, Renault Master, the driving mechanism was on the opposite side, and also the gears were hard to get use to, switching between manual and automatic, was hard to get use to! Vehicle was lovely and clean, but the layout of the Van cramped, and badly designed, overall we were provided with a clean comfortable van for during our wonderful travels through Tasmania.
We hired the Superior Motorhome for overflow guests, just parked the van in the yard for the few days. Was the perfect space for two adult men to share overnights, using the amanities of the house. It was well below freezing up in the Launceston hills overnight, the beds, bedding and space heater kept the van nice and toastie. The van was presented in perfect condition and the pick-up and drop-off was very conviniant at the Drive-Park-Fly parking across the road from the Launceston airport.Thank you Ken for great short notice and friendly service. Well worth 5 stars.
Had the best 3 weeks in Tassie, I hired the Renault Master and it was an absolute dream to drive! Kim went above and beyond with all the questions I had both over the phone in weeks prior and also upon pickup. Pickup and drop off was a breeze, highly recommend adding the linen package for those freezing mornings. Huge credit to Ken and the whole LeisureRent team for providing affordable, clean, comfortable vehicles as well as amazing customer service. I'd definitely hire again, couldn't fault it. A+
